Today’s track takes us to the beautiful tropical climes of southern Florida: Pompano Park at Pompano Beach. Home to a standardbred harness racing track, all the racing that is done at Pompano Park is at a specific gait (trot or pace) while the horses pull their drivers in a sulky: a small, two-wheeled cart. As always, click for a larger picture.
If you zoom in, you can see that the horses on both tracks are traveling clockwise.
It looks to me, from the shadows, like there is a pretty tall wall on the outside of the track right there, which would block a view of the track for anyone who didn’t feel like going into the casino. So what are those cars doing out there? Are we all unsuspecting witnesses to illegal arms dealing?
